This is my new website.
Months ago I had it in my head to write this massive Project Management system in Ruby on Rails. I built something that … worked. Anyway, my host claims to support RoR hosting, and the do, to some extent. But really, they’re running some cobbled-together FastCGI/Apache deal that breaks down with the simplest of applications.
So here we are, in WordPress land. Why? Well, because it’s easy to set up, and relatively easy to manage, and I want my personal blog to be something where I don’t have to worry about making it work, I just have to worry about the content. I want to be able to post my writing, my code ideas, my art, and my music without needing to futz around with PHP or Rails or ColdFusion. Again: so here we are.
I’m shutting down hollowedout.com pretty soon – at least, I’m keeping the domain name for the time being and redirecting all requests here. I might do something with it in the future. The far future.
Anyway, I should be able to post here more regularly than the old site. At some point I might try and export all of the blog posts, but that will be entirely for my benefit. Now I’m off to the store to buy milk for Oscar. More posts imminent.
