3,578 words done today. This morning I was bashing my head into a wall trying to get past 300. Well, that’s how it goes sometimes. It’s not a particularly good handful of words, but there they are sitting in my editor window and I can’t complain that much. That’s what editing and several bottles of Scotch are for. Here’s the total:
40%!!! Pretty exciting. I polished off two chapters today. A decent length one describing Jonah’s training, and then a short one where he restores his humanity and plots a course for the future. We’re about to go back over the Golden Bridge. That will be tomorrow, when I absolutely cross the 50K line.
Speaking of 50K, I’m getting closer on the Nanowrimo goal. I entered the word count a few minutes after midnight, so my day for the 14th is going to look like I did nothing. Tomorrow though is going to look like insanity. Presuming I can get a few thousand words out again. I’ve got a lot of meat to write up tomorrow. Shouldn’t be bad. Anyway, THAT word count is now sitting at 38, 648. It will be nice to get the November 50K goal out of the way. As a subset of the larger work it represents nearly half of my novel. That’s no small beans.
I’m tired.
Stats, you ask? At this rate, I’ll have 82K words written this month, putting me right around 75% of my total word count goal for this novel. Scrivener tells me I have about 123 paperback pages (350 words/page), but I’m starting to think they mean sheets of paper, because at this wordcount I’m closing in on Renda’s Inked book, and she’s around 211 pages. Wait, I’ve talked about all this before.
Did I mention I was tired?
