The Clingenpeel

so I’ve gone and invented a new drink. at least I hope it’s new.

1 1/2 measures bourbon
3/4 measures red vermouth
3/4 measures cherry brandy
3 dashes angostura bitters

bitters in a glass, coat the inside, drain out the excess. put the rest in a shaker with plenty of ice and shake until you can’t bear to hold the shaker anymore. pour it into the cocktail glass. drop a maraschino cherry in, and the squeeze an orange peel over the drink and hang it on the rim.

    It was DELICIOUS. Tastes strong, but not ‘of alcohol’ strong. Which could be a bad thing.
